Faith For – Faith Acts

by Rex Rouis

Faith For

Therefore I say unto you, whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. Mark 11:24

Faith is for things – the things of God. There is a purpose to faith, and that purpose is to bring to earth the things of God. Only faith is deemed worthy to be exchanged (credited, reckoned) for something from God. Only something from God can be exchanged for something else from God. Abraham’s faith was exchanged for righteousness.

…for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. Romans 4:9b KJV

…For we say, “Faith was credited to Abraham as righteousness.” Romans 4:9b NASB

Faith Acts

Thus, faith by itself, unaccompanied by actions, is dead. James 2:17 Complete Jewish Bible

Faith by itself is potent but inactive. When we add our own actions, it becomes active and alive. Faith is the ability to believe, and once received it must be acted upon. This action is called believing. Only through acting on our faith, can we receive something from God. Receiving by faith requires corresponding actions.

Faith is for something from God. Faith must be acted upon.
