Faith Must Move Your Mouth Before It Can Move Your Mountain

street-art-mouth-300-webIf your faith isn’t strong enough to move your mouth, then it isn’t strong enough to move your mountain. If you can’t speak your faith, then you better check yourself. There may not be enough faith in your heart to speak. Most people think that the words we speak originate solely in our head, but that is not always so. The Bible says, ‘out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.’ Whatever is in your heart will come out. It doesn’t matter whether it is anger, lust, fear, or faith. If faith is not coming out of your mouth, check yourself, you’re probably not in faith. You are most probably ‘in hope,’ trying to speak and act as if you are in faith.

And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God.” Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you. Mark 11:22-24

The Bible says the mouth is one of the most difficult members to tame, but once it is tamed, the whole body will respond. For where the mouth goes, the life goes, and where the mouth goes is highly contingent on what’s already in the heart. We are like a tube of toothpaste. When the pressures of life squeeze you, what’s on the inside will come out. If you want good things to come out, then you must put good things in. The old adage of, ‘garbage in, and garbage out’ is really good Bible wisdom.

That is the purpose of a good confession – to plant the good seed of God’s word in your heart. It was never meant to force God to do whatever ‘you say.’ You are only supposed to ‘say’ His word. The Bible says that He confirms HIS WORD with signs following.

  2. Thank you for your words of wisdom l believe God’s word yet when the promises of God take a long time to come to pass l start to doubt which l know is wrong yet l believe God is changing me in the waiting and teaching me to Let Go as He has a timing for all things to come to pass Amen

  3. I just ran across this site and was reading the comments. You are so right. We must show love and kindness, Jesus did! If your heart is not right how can the spirit man be right? Luke 6:45 says that A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out o the treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

  4. this is Devin wisdom. I am motivated and my faith will speak to my worries

    1. This is good and true. We must have faith to believe in order to receive. Doubt doesn’t move the hand of God faith does.
If you you have doubt in your heart that your prayer won’t be answered, guess what, it won’t be. The fact of the matter is That We Have What We Say! Whatever we feed our spirit man is what will show up on the out side. Doubt is a faith destroyer. Jesus said believe and you shall receive. Salvation doesn’t come through doubt! Blessings doesn’t come through doubt!Healing doesn’t come through doubt.

Thank you and continue to let God inspire and use you.
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you.

  5. thank u for the inspiration. I feel relief today. my faith will move my troubles.
    glory to thee

  6. Thanks for this simple, yet powerful truth, that works in the spiritual realm!

  7. Great revelatory material for me. Oh that my faith may grow and I help those I lead and myself to move our mountains.

  8. This is awesome! Mere reading it alone has surged faith into me. Thank you for the message. God bless you.

  9. Here’s something to think about: in faith circles it is common to hear people say, “we have to get God’s Word into our heart.” And, “out of the heart flows the forces of life.” While this is true, it would really pay us to reconsider what the heart actually is.

If you think that heart==spirit you will come out of the New Testament confused. How can lust proceed out of a recreated, reborn spirit? It can’t.

The heart is actually the whole inner man–the soul and the spirit. Doubt does not come from your spirit…it comes from your head or soul. By meditating on the Word of God, we renew our mind and bring it into alignment with what is already true in our spirits. When soul and spirit line up and agree, then the power flows for whatever we need.

Our spirits are already complete in Him. It is our unrenewed minds that give us trouble…

    1. Author

Gary – I agree with you. The heart is more than the spirit. The spirit is the ‘Hidden Man of the Heart’ (1 Peter 3:4 KJV).

Why are you so angry and harsh? Why do you choose to show so much animus to people that think differently and yes may even be wrong? You got the formula right again, your heart is in the wrong place. You say when the ‘soul and spirit line up and agree.’ What about love and kindness?

      1. What you just shared is so very very important! You’re spirit man is where the gift of faith resides how can Gods perfect gift of faith be lacking in some way or in need of anything God doesn’t hand out imperfect incomplete gifts. Speaking Gods word out loud is to get ones imperfect soul in sync with the spirit. In my 11:23 the Greek word heart refers to the mind (soul) check it out.

  10. Unbelievable resource materials, what a wealth of knowledge. Thank you so much for making this available to the public simply magnificent

  11. Thank you for this spiritual food. I’ve been struggling with this for a long time in my walk. I finally got it!! I’ve got some work to do. THANK YOU!!!!!
