If your faith isn’t strong enough to move your mouth, then it isn’t strong enough to move your mountain. If you can’t speak your faith, then you better check yourself. There may not be enough faith in your heart to speak. Most people think that the words we speak originate solely in our head, but that is not always so. The Bible says, ‘out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.’ Whatever is in your heart will come out. It doesn’t matter whether it is anger, lust, fear, or faith. If faith is not coming out of your mouth, check yourself, you’re probably not in faith. You are most probably ‘in hope,’ trying to speak and act as if you are in faith.

The Bible says the mouth is one of the most difficult members to tame, but once it is tamed, the whole body will respond. For where the mouth goes, the life goes, and where the mouth goes is highly contingent on what’s already in the heart. We are like a tube of toothpaste. When the pressures of life squeeze you, what’s on the inside will come out. If you want good things to come out, then you must put good things in. The old adage of, ‘garbage in, and garbage out’ is really good Bible wisdom.
That is the purpose of a good confession – to plant the good seed of God’s word in your heart. It was never meant to force God to do whatever ‘you say.’ You are only supposed to ‘say’ His word. The Bible says that He confirms HIS WORD with signs following.
