You Have To Live At the Level Your Miracle Requires

work-hard-350-webby Rex Rouis

‘Live at the level that your miracle requires’ – what does that mean? If you need a miracle then you will have to live at a level in God that will support a miracle. Big things take big faith and big faith takes effort. The Bible says to seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and THEN you will receive the things you need. Making Him number one may require changes in your life.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33

And you have to do it. Somebody else cannot do it for you. I get prayer requests all the time. They all go something like this, “Please pray for me, I have a terrible issue and I desperately need God’s help.” Yes, I can pray for them, and I do, but real help comes when people rise up themselves and do the things they need to do.

Ultimately, God wants us to grow in Him. People usually don’t grow unless they have to – unless they are forced to. Sometimes the hard issues of life force us to do just that. We need to do what the Bible says to receive what the Bible promises. When we do what we are supposed to do then God does what He desires to do. When we do what the Bible tells us to do, then God will do what He has promised He would do. And most of the time, the bigger the request, the bigger the effort. You do not earn God’s favor but the kind of faith necessary for big things requires sacrifice and effort. When the disciples could not cast the spirit out of the little boy in Mark chapter 9, Jesus told them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.” (Mark 9:29 KJV) Some things take an extra effort. Jesus always paid the price, evidently, the disciples did not.

More Bible, more praise, more worship, more seeking, more listening, more obedience, more trust, more whatever. God wants us to be willing to do whatever it takes to seek and follow Him. He wants us to treat Him like He actually is the God of the universe, and that He actually can help us. It is simply giving Him the respect that He deserves, and showing Him by our actions that we know that He is faithful to what He has promised.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

Most things in God do not just happen. Where did we ever get the idea that faith in God was easy, and that it would not take effort?  It may take everything you have to get an answer from God by faith. That is why it happens so rarely. He is not reluctant to move on our behalf but He requires much, and few are willing to do it. Are you willing? Do you want it that bad?

We need to do what the Bible says to receive what the Bible promises.
Jesus taught on discipline, patience, and perseverance for a reason – because He expects it. God still moves in the affairs of man, but only when moved by faith.

But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, James 1:6, 7

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the (spoken) word of Christ. Romans 10:17

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. John 15:7

Faith comes from the Word, specifically, “a Word freshly spoken.” A personal word, from a personal God to a person – you. Not a written word, not a read word, not even a heard word from somebody else, but a personal word heard from a very personal God – Jesus.

Faith is what pleases God. It is actively seeking Him, hearing Him, and trusting in Him as Abba Father. He alone is the source of such faith. It comes as the result of Him speaking to His people. Find out what you need to do and do it. We can help you; God can help you, but you need to do it.

God still moves in the affairs of man, but He only moves when moved by faith.

Richard – I assume you are asking – Did every person who came to Jesus for healing get healed? The short answer is no. Far from it. Sometimes only one person got healed, sometimes a group is healed, and rarely everybody.

Actually, Jesus did not heal them, their own faith healed them. Jesus worked with the person, their faith, and the operation of the Holy Spirit. It is very similar to today. Many people don’t like to hear that but it is true.

  1. “…on the Cross, Jesus gave us everything but the excuses.”

This is a profound statement, carries many shades of meaning, and is something we can all learn from and apply in our daily walk with The Lord.

  2. “Not everybody got healed under Jesus’ ministry …”
Can you quote one incident where somebody didn’t get healed under Jesus’ ministry?

    1. Mark 6: 4 Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.” 5 And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6 And he was amazed at their lack of faith.

  3. Thank you for your website; I enjoy it very much!
I don’t mean to be critical in any way, but I noticed a mistake.
Under the heading “Topics,” you have misspelled “Deliverance;” you have “Deliveriance.”

    Thanks again!

  4. God is faithful. But we don’t have to think we can understand everything about God. Because he is God alone. Just trust him have confidence in him. he never promised that there will be no more trouble [sickness] but he promised to see us through it. he always bring good out of bad.

  5. The mute did not confess. The blind did not look. The deaf did not listen. They trust Jesus touch. They trust Jesus’ spit. They trust fingers stuck in ears are anointed. Love spawns trust. ” That our faith would rest in the Power of God ” Faith Activates by LOVE. God is Love. Trust Love. ” Done” unto you means: generated, begun, activated. Tap the flow!

Rorystory – See my response below to your other comment. The whole issue comes down to this, is faith conditional on man’s actions or is it unconditional? If it is unconditional, then God acts sovereignly and we just wait for it to happen. If conditional, then what is it that we are expected to do?

I believe it is the latter and the Bible is full of explanations and requirements. James tells us that, ‘without faith a person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord’ James 1:6, 7. How is it that we receive and release faith. That is what this site is all about.

  6. The multitude was healed of all manor of everything without condition or limit. ” And Jesus Healed Them All” Y’All! Matthew 15:30. Sincerely, Received. Surely He bore…fulfilled Matthew 8:16. Freely received gift is ours. Ticket claim confirmation number is ; Isaiah 53. Surely

Roryvanorden – There are times when God moves unconditionally, and faith is not required. Those times are wonderful and not much, if any, faith is required. Those events are however few and far between.

Faith can access God’s miracle working power all the time and anytime. But one must have faith – sufficient faith – for the job. Jesus said as much several time in the Gospels.

God requires faith and faith requires action on our side – putting the word into our hearts, protecting its harvest, and seek God. And big things require big efforts. Yes, God ‘gives’ faith but He gives it by speaking (Romans 10:17) to those that ‘diligently seek Him.’

I am not implying that you are saying this but, simply turning something over to God and then taking whatever comes as the will of God is what most of the Church believes, and it is nonsense. God rewards (gives grace and faith) to those that diligently seek and serve Him. And the verse says, ‘without faith it is impossible to please Him’ – Hebrews 11:6

      God bless you. Rex

  7. Happy to be back. Was missing these posts so badly. Thanks for such an informative post. God bless you.

  8. I’ve seen Christians who want a miracle from God but will not do the things that are necessary. Some have ask me to pray and when I tell them what they need to do it’s like they don’t have time to read, meditate, pray, worship, and just fellowship with the Lord. I was reading a book and the Minster had a lady who came to ask for prayer for she had cancer. He told her he would pray but it would be good for her to stay for the Healing School class he was teaching. Her response was that her daughter and her were going shopping for the afternoon. I must say this is really heartbreaking for her life hangs in the balance. This is a very good word and I pray that whoever read’s it will listen to what the Spirit of God is saying through you. Thanks..

Opal – Yep, amazing! God bless you. Not everybody got healed under Jesus’ ministry and not everybody will get healed today. But they can if they really want to. The hard truth is this; on the Cross, Jesus gave us everything but the excuses.
