Jesus would like to tell all of us – “Quit Acting Like I Am Dead.”
Yes, Jesus died on the Cross, but He was resurrected and rose triumphantly. He now sits on the throne of God, on the right hand of God the Father. He is no longer dead but alive. As Christians, we know this. Then why do so many carry on with their daily lives as if He is still dead?
I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. Revelation 1:18
They cannot see Him with their physical eyes, so they do not carry the moment-by-moment awareness that He is alive and walking with them. Most people, Christians included, are ruled by the five senses (sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste); because of that, the world appears more real than Jesus. This world is seen with the eyes, but the Kingdom of God is known only with the heart.
Most people today follow their emotions or intellect and do not appreciate the things of the Spirit. Spiritual things are not emotional, intellectual, or even physically based. Most people today consider the things of the Spirit of God to be unsophisticated, irrational, and outright foolish. Many so-called church thinkers and leaders hold this bias.
The merely intellectual man rejects the teaching of the Spirit of God, for to him, it is mere folly; he cannot grasp it because it is to be understood only by spiritual insight. I Corinthians 2:14 Twentieth Century New Testament
The Spirit of God reveals the things of God. They are not intellectually understood, and the senses do not recognize them. It is only through the revelation of the Spirit that we know God. Jesus may no longer be walking on the earth in bodily form, but He is still the Lord of all the earth. Now that He has ascended to Heaven, the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Godhead, speaks and acts on His behalf. Jesus may be located bodily in Heaven, but He still reigns on earth through the agency of the Holy Spirit.
And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:20b
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper (Holy Spirit) will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. John 16:7
Jesus has always been with us and will always be with us. He is our Lord, Savior, Healer, and Advocate. Jesus is present with each one of us – right now. Jesus is no longer limited by His body to be in only one place at a time, but now He can be anywhere and everywhere. Jesus is not merely alive through Bible doctrine or Christian imagination. He is alive in reality, albeit a spiritual reality, which is more real than the physical reality around us. Jesus is here in Spirit and truth. Know that He is near. Carry on in your daily life as if He is near because He is.
Jesus is seen with the heart, not the eyes. Why do bad things happen if He is so near? That is a good question and a tough one. It is challenging because the issue of evil was not something man was supposed to know about or deal with. In the beginning, Adam and Eve were told not to eat of the tree of ‘the knowledge of good and evil’ (Genesis 2:17). But of course, they did, and evil entered the world through this disobedience. Even worse than that, evil took over the world.
God had delegated the management of the world to Adam. When Adam disobeyed, management transferred to Satan. Satan, the Bible says, became the god of this world. However, we believers are delivered from the power of darkness through faith in God.
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13, 14
Now, those who have been delivered are commanded to go forth and spread the light of God to the rest of the world and enforce God’s authority. When we do this in faith through the Name of Jesus, all the resources of Heaven are at our disposal. But if we do not, Jesus will not step in – even if He is standing right next to you in the Spirit.
Jesus is more real than the world.Yes, He is alive, and yes, He is active on our behalf, but only through our faith and obedience. He loves everyone, but He responds with salvation only to those who believe Him (John 3:16). Believe that Jesus exists and that He is there with you because He is.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who approaches Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Hebrews 11:6
The Bible tells us to acknowledge Him in all our ways, and then things will turn out for our good (Proverbs 3:6). How do we acknowledge God? It is simple. We acknowledge Him by acting like He is there. Talk to Him and believe He hears you. Sure, it would be great if we could hear Him with our ears every time we asked, but faith does not work like that. He answers in many ways. Sometimes, Jesus speaks directly as Lord, and other times, through His Spirit within us as truth.
Whatever method, either by His voice, the leading of the Holy Spirit, or by the written page, we must believe. We must believe Him solely based on what we know in our hearts. We must know that He cares for us and has the answer. We must trust that He is there even if we do not see, hear, or feel Him. This is, after all, a walk of faith.
Comments
Faith is a most delicate grace, thriving best in a pure conscience. Hence the apostle speaks of “holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience” (1 Timothy 3:9). The lively actings of faith are soon marred by the dust of sin, or by the vanities of the world getting into the heart where it is seated. And wherever true faith is—if it is hurt by sin—it vents itself in a way of godly sorrow. James 4:3 And when you ask, you do not receive because ye ask amiss; that ye may spend it in your pleasures (lust of the flesh).
“Walk by faith and not by sight” II Corinthians 5:7. If you ask of God, you must believe , Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him. For he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. If you ask of Him, you shall receive it, by faith. Matthew 7:7- Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock, and the door shall be opened unto you.
Believe and receive Blu in true faith. Hebrews 12:1,2
Blessings
I’ve prayed and believed beyond doubt, and still nothing. I’ll soon be 65 and wonder…. Am I always going to be sick and lacking the good things?
Id love to live the full – true life Christ said we could live.
Maybe we aren’t enough sometimes…
Blu.
God ways are not ours,
He has plans for our lives and all of his plans are good towards us hallelujah.
Don’t despair and don’t complain about the things that you permit in your life.
The word of God is active and alive, same word of God can’t fail, Mathew 21:22 instructs us to ask believing that we will receive.
We ask and not receive because we ask amis, God is able to heal you and give you the best that life has to offer.
“That we may have life and have it in super abundance” that’s one of the reasons Jesus came as declared by himmself in his word.
Blu.
God is forever faithful, be grateful that he has brought you this far, keep the faith alive, hold God by his words, tell it to him in prayers “God you said this and you said . …” believing in him and I can assure you that things will change for the best.
God is still in the healing business, setting captives free, saving sinners and doing what’s best for his children.
He that ask in faith believing received.
Amen! Romans 8:28 all things works for our good blu even when we are attacked by sickness. Stand firm on what you believe. Jesus time is not your time. I been on dialysis 29 years, they removed both kidneys and removed my thyroid! I could go on and on ! But I will never blame Jesus and rush him to do nothing. Because every time I think about how He suffered and died on the cross for me
nothing we go through can compare! No matter what I am healed! I will live life abundantly! In Jesus Name!🙏💪❤️
Don’t give up Blu, He is REAL!! Remember that the spiritual is permanent but the temporal isn’t. Those that are with the believer are more than those against.
I have the picture from the top in my room. The boy on the bench looks a little bit like me, and so it’s a wonderful reminder that I’m beside Jesus at all times, even when I am lost.
I have that picture from the top in my room. But we painted the guy’s hair red, and now it looks like me. It’s always a reminder when I look at it. I am standing beside Jesus at all times. Even when I am lost.
Yes, He is alive for ever more. If something is real to day, it’s Jesus, the Father and The Power of God the Holy Spirit. We move in Him. We live by Him. We have Hope in Him, and what He has said will always come through. It’s not depending on Him, it’s depending on our TRUST, Faith in Him
David was a young man, just anointed to become the next King of Israel 1. Sam 17:45 when he goes against Goliath, he clearly speaks in faith, and what he spoke came through.
David was a man after the heart of The Lord, let us all be after the heart of Lord.
Thank you for all the faithful work you do for our Lord, The King of King, our Saviour and deliverer, who is alive and we are seated with Him, as we read in Eph.2:6
What do you mean by, “It’s not our dependence on Him.” ?
Just wondering
Thank you for this. I am still learning how to truly connect with Jesus. I am always praying but I really want to understand. When I pray, am I praying to Jesus or the Holy Spirit, or both. I have been praying to both, but if someone can help me understand a little more, I would be grateful.
Blue – The Bible teaches us not to pray ‘to’ Jesus or the Holy Spirit. The Bible pattern is to pray ‘to’ the Father through the Name of Jesus and through the work and communication of the Holy Spirit. Jesus paid for our access to the Father through His work on the Cross. We now have access through Him and His Name into the very throne room of God.
Christian orthodox view is that God is a Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. It is a mystery on how it all works exactly. Read the Gospel of John, chapters 14 through 17. Approach and ask of the Father in Jesus Name. Read some of our articles on the authority we have in Jesus Name. We love you.
THIS IS A BLESSING TO ME. THANK YOU..THANK YOU,THANK YOU.
God bless you for this awesome truth that sets free from the knowledge of darkness
Thank you. Because He is, we are! And as He is, so are we in this world!
Let our lights shine…
