The-Virgin-and-Child-Leonardo-300-webStatements of My Faith – Working On It

I am in the process of creating my own comprehensive statement of beliefs. This is quite a project, and quite a journey. There is something wonderful about seeing everything on one page; it helps to illustrate the ‘big picture’ of God’s work. It also helps to organize your beliefs and show how they all work together.

In the mean time, here are some examples of what OTHERS believe:

  1. I’d always want to be update on new content on this internet site,
    saved to bookmarks!

  2. The Presbyterian Church has published a booklet called “Living Faith”. For me it is the embodiment of my life as a believing Christian and living in this modern world. Here is an excerpt that gives all us sinners a hope in a better life in eternity…
All people fall short of God’s standards and need salvation. God’s way to salvation has been revealed in Jesus Christ. Through the death and resurrection of Christ our sins are forgiven. Salvation means life, forgiveness, healing, wholeness. It comes from God’s grace received through faith in Christ alone. 2.5.8 Thanks be to God!

  3. What We Believe

The Lord our God is One – the Father, the Son, the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

The Bible, in its entirety, is divine revelation and we submit to its authority, acknowledging it to be inerrant, inspired by God and carrying the full weight of His authority, counsel and intent.

The LORD God created man in His own image – a spirit being who has a soul and lives in an earthly body. When man fell into sin in disobeying God, he entered into a state of spiritual death and depravity and corruption, a slave of sin and the devil, and became estranged from his Creator.

In order to rescue man from certain doom, the LORD God initiated a plan of redemption which He has accomplished on behalf of His people in the realm of temporal history.

This plan, located in the historical incarnation of God in the person of Jesus of Nazareth, through the agency of a certain virgin, climaxed in His death and resurrection, eventuating in our being made His blameless righteousness.

We confess Jesus Lord, the Christ of Old Testament prophecy, being at once God and man, the only Mediator between God and man.

The Lord Jesus, through His substitutionary atoning death and bodily resurrection, has provided the meritorious basis of our justification and newness of life, which, we received by faith.

We confess that sin, spiritual death and satan the adversary, all now defeated and disarmed by our Lord, do not have dominion over us.

He, our Lord, has also in His ascension and sitting down at the right hand of the Father, enabled and empowered us, evident in our right to the use of His Name, to exercise His own authority on the earth.

The Holy Spirit indwells the hearts of believers, leading, teaching and correcting us, perfecting our sanctification and holiness, conforming us to the Lord’s image in our earthly walk. In addition, He gives us supernatural help and ability in giving us utterance when we pray in tongues.

The Body of Christ is a visible entity, a corporate and universal fellowship of believers from all nations, tribes and tongues, brought together by and called to live in the power (and demonstration) of the Holy Spirit under the regulation of the authority of the Holy Scriptures, administering the sacraments, preaching the Gospel.

As members of the Body of Christ and being His righteousness, we live out, in active demonstration and evident manifestation, the life of God as holiness.

    1. Don’t forget that YHWH had a LAMB SLAIN from BEFORE the foundations of the worlds – He did not institute a plan of redemption due to Man’s sin, but in anticipation of Man’s sin.
