Even When Alone, You Are Not Alone – This Is a Good Thing

treespath-light-300-webYou are never alone. God promised to never leave you nor forsake you. It may seem like you are alone, but it is at these times that you must choose to believe that He is there. You must believe that He is there solely based on the fact that the Bible says it. This is the very essence and requirement of faith – to walk, not on what you see and feel, but on what you know – a knowing based solely on what the word of God says.

Silence never means that God is not there. He of course, is always there. Silence is a test of obedience. It is the indication that you are now expected to make a decision. A decision, not based on the comfort of His overpowering presence, or the renewed leading of His Spirit, but rather, a decision based on the sufficient knowing of His will. The reason He does not speak is because He has already spoken. Silence means that you already know enough, and that it is simply time to act.

“….This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (9) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8, 9

Joshua needed to meditate day and night so that he could maintain the presence of God all day and all night.

As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from now and forever.” Isaiah 59:21

“….I will never abandon you or leave you.” (6) So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can mortals do to me?” Hebrews 13:5b, 6

These verses show what is expected of man, and what can be expected of God. Man is expected to continually ‘say’ what God has promised, and God can be expected to keep His promise. If you will keep the word of God coming out of your mouth, you will be able to keep the consciousness of God in your life, even when times are dark and lonely.

Outside of God, everyone is alone and without hope. In God, no one is alone, but the true realization of His presence only comes by faith. It is faith alone, in Christ alone, which alone moves God, when you are alone.

The reason He does not speak is because He has already spoken – through His word.

  1. If God said that man should never be alone, then where is my wife and family today? Since i always keep meeting very pathetic low life loser women all the time that like to Curse at me for just No Reason at all which makes it worse for me altogether now. Just saying good morning or hello to these women has unfortunately become so very dangerous for many of us men today since the great majority of these women today are very different from the women in the past when most women were definitely Real Ladies back then and so very easy to meet as well. God what in the world have you done to these women today when they use to be so very nice years ago?

  2. By the way, can you remove my last name from my previous post?? I did not realize it wold get posted with the message.
    Thank you,
    Kyle

  3. Hi, I was just wondering if I could use an excerpt from your article for the quote of the month, on my churches monthly bulletin board?? I am doing the theme Things To Be Thankful For, in November and was looking for something along the lines of Jesus never leaving us, for the Quote.
Thank you and let me know,
    Kyle

  4. Rex,
Your really not a great person writing stuff like, “Lighten up, it will be easier to find someone who wants to be around you.” What planet are you from?

  5. Hog wash.I bet you are not alone and you can say anything you want.If you think being alone is great then you try it.I dare you.You don’t know what you are talking about.I became a christain at Age 35.Prayed for 35 years for a husband and am still without.Oh ya still single at 70 years old. The christain men didn’t want me then they don’t want me now. Ido not have the gift of singleness and will never accept it.You would not either. If this isn’t punishment blah, blah.

Marsha – The article is not about being alone all your life or a significant piece of it. It is about being alone at times or at night, or whatever. The point is – God is always there, whether you are with someone or you are alone.

      1. Dear Rev Watson, Do you think your words brought blessing? It makes me sad when people make comments online that are not based on scripture but on personal opinion.

The Lord knows personally what it means to be forsaken and alone and it is He alone who will comfort us when we are in a season of loneliness.

Those of us who have been through loneliness have compassion when we see others going through it. I pray Marsha you will find comfort in Christ, don’t look to anyone or anything else for you will only be disappointed. You are not the only one who is lonely and you are never truly alone.

He has promised never to leave His children or forsake them and His promises can be trusted. Hold on tight to this truth.

        1. “We are never alone. Christ said that he is always with us. The eye of the Lord is always upon you, so be careful what you do and say. There is also a great company of witnesses, the angels and saints of heaven. Don’t forget your guardian angel that has been with you from birth until the day the company of angels take you away to be with your Father.(Luke 16:22) “For he will give his angels charge of you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.” (Ps 91:11-12). “See that you do not despise one of the little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my heavenly Father” (Mt 18:10). Each of these little children has his or her own angel before God in heaven.”

Christ’s original audience wouldn’t have found the reference puzzling. Jesus was drawing on the Hebrew revelation that angels are guardians of nations and individuals, adults as well as children, and they perform various assignments.”

The Rev. Dr. is always in the company saints and angels. A mighty company they are.

Sharon – I am sorry I did not see the August 2 comment from the Rev and/or Dr. I would have deleted it. It was mean spirited. I will delete it very soon. I want all to see my comment first.

The number one rule in the Kingdom is, “Don’t Be Mean.” Rex

  6. I’m encouraged in the Lord for being with me I was feeling alone for a while but I began to realize that I have God.
