The following is the first of many fun equations that, when taken as a whole, will make up the Mechanics of Faith. Faith is as much a science as the physical sciences.
We hear that 96% of the universe is filled with two unknown substances. For lack of better words they call these unknown materials ‘dark matter‘ and ‘dark energy.’ They don’t know exactly what they are but they know what they do – they hold the universe together. Without them galaxies would fly apart by centrifugal force. Well, I choose to call them ‘Word Matter’ and ‘Word Energy’ instead. The Bible says, He holds everything together by the “word of His power.” The spoken word of His power, I might add. Faith is trust in the Divine Person who built and runs this realm we call our universe. He is the Creator and Maintainer of all that is. And He has a plan for everyone. The only doorway into this good life is through the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Seek the Son and you seek the Doorway. You enter through His Salvation.
“Gravity can explain the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion.” Sir Isaac Newton
Equations are the sentences of science, and there was no better scientist than Sir Isaac Newton. He has been called “the greatest scientific genius the world has known,” but He was also a devout believer and a lay theologian. He actually spent less time on science than on theology. He once said, “Gravity can explain the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion. God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done.” He also said, “I have a fundamental belief in the Bible as the Word of God, written by men who were inspired. I study the Bible daily.” Among his effects upon death was a well-worn 1660 Bible.
