How are we to face impossible situations, ignore them and hope they go away, or face them with an overcoming faith in God? We need to know because only a correct response will bring success. The Bible tells us to respond with faith, because with Him nothing is impossible.
Jesus said, “The things that are impossible for people to do are possible for God to do.” Luke 18:27 God’s Word Translation
And Jesus, having turned His eyes upon them and having considered them, said to them, In the presence of men, as men look at this, it is impossible. But in the presence of God, as He looks at this, all things are possible. Matt 19:26 Wuest Expanded Translation
Only faith is able to grasp the reality of the possible in the face of the impossible. Only faith has the power to move seemingly impossible mountains. Only faith has the ability to look directly at an impossible situation and know that it will change.
Abraham had a clear understanding of how impossible his situation was. Both he and Sarah were way past the age of bearing a child, but God had promised that they would. In Abraham’s heart, the reality of God’s promise was more real that the facts about their situation. He did not ignore the facts, but rather he considered the facts as temporary and God’s promise as permanent and real.
Only a heart filled with faith can face the impossible and still know that God can change it. Read how Abraham had sufficient faith to look directly at the impossible and yet be fully persuaded that God was able to perform what He had promised.
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who quickens the dead, and calls those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Romans 4:17-21
Faith is not ignoring the problem. Faith is the tangible knowing that God is bigger than the problem, and that He is willing and able to help. Acknowledging the problem is the first step in obtaining faith. Faith has the courage to look at what currently is and still know what will be.
Faith ‘calls those things which be not as though they were’. This is the creative power of faith. It brings the power and presence of God into any situation. Denial, on the other hand, ‘calls those things which be as though they are not’. This is not creatively running to the issue with the power of God. This is running from the issue with the weakness of man. Run to the roar with the faith of God. He can change any situation.
How then do you receive this faith? By running to the Word of God, and by seeking Him till you get the answer. When faith comes, so comes the answer and the victory. The Bible says that, ‘Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the (spoken personal) word of God’. Seek Him till you hear Him. You are literally one hearing away from victory in any seemingly impossible situation.

My graduation is in danger because of transcript problems even after going through an extra year in the university. Pls pray that this shame be averted. I ask that you help me pray for my son. He’s car has been taken by his mechanic, but now wouldn’t want to release it back to him. He’s made a whole lot of allegations against him that are unfounded. This matter is going into court and got all his friends to talk against my son. Please pray for God to intervene in this difficult situation

God does truly exists. You just need to keep on going with the faith . The faith in God that He is bigger than the problems your facing and that He’s ready to help .
But you must also look at what you may be doing wrong . Like maybe . unatrractive appearance , bad temper , annoying nature , bad body dour and try to work on it . I’ll pray for you too.
Tommy – I don’t understand some of your comment. The only thing that God really looks at in your life that moves Him to action is believing. It is a grace of God given when one meets the conditions of a promise, and hears from Him. Most everything else is a distraction. Read His word and seek Him. Seek Him with all your heart. I agree with your point Rex, but Kevintommy is right. We have our part to play as well . The bible says Faith without works is dead. For instance someone prayer to getting married ,has to work on repulsive characters which s/he may have e.g laziness, filthness,anger,rudeness etc .in the same vein if you want to excel at work/ studies u must be hardworking then God will bless your efforts . not doing our part and expecting a miracle may be a mirage!
going through a hard time. my relationship failed (not my fault) , been jobless for 7years now. not married at 32 years as a female. lack if finances. etc. I have prayed, fasted, did midnight prayers, cried out unto God for divine intervention yet nothing. Dear sister, do not lose faith. Our God is a wonderful God, he works in the most unexpected ways. Right now we may not understand what he is doing in your life, but have faith, keep hoping and praying and submit everything to him. I declare upon your situation his word in Ephesians 3:20, have faith, for our Father can do for you immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine! Let Him take control, for He knows the plans He has for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us (Jeremiah 29:11). Keep praying, for in Jeremiah 33:3 the Lord encourages us to call to Him and He will answer us and tell us great and unsearchable things we do not know. Let Him mould you as the potter moulds the clay.

I am going through terrible legal situation. I’m facing prison for changing my date of birth on my birth certificate…. that’s it… obviously I feel this is terribly unfair and a horrible misunderstanding and have seriously considered suicide. I can’t commit suicide because God has carried me through the “valleys” throughout my life. Throughout this terrible ordeal, I have this peace that God will intervene and make everything go away. I’m nearing 40 and want to have a baby but the stress of this situation caused me to miscarry. My husband has been so sweet and understanding. I’m suspended from my job and haven’t worked in nearly 9 months… I know God wipes my tears away and is carrying me because I don’t have the strength to walk this journey alone. I thank God for giving me strength and access to websites like this… Please anyone reading, pray for me, my son, and my husband. Thank you and thank GOD!!!!!

I have my final exams in the next two weeks. My internal scores are pretty weak for two of my subjects and I am afraid (a little bit) that I might lose my scholarship (worst that could happen). I love my mother and I don’t want to disappoint her. I’m only upset that I don’t know why my lecturer is grading me this badly. I have been ill for a while now, but I only ask for prayers to help me through the exams. I know my God will get me through, but I need support in prayer, Matthew 18:19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for,it will be done for them by my Father in heaven”. Thank you for your prayers. Graced by His mercy and faithfulness, I testify the greatness of our mighty God. I recieved the results of my exams today – I was ranked FIRST out of more than 200 students. I was utterly shocked! All Glory be to God! Whatever good that is percieved of me, I owe it all to Jesus Christ.
Our God is wonderful, our God is great, greater than anything, any problem, any issue! Our God is magnificent, there is nothing impossible for Him – HE IS THE ALMIGHTY GOD! I stand in prayer, for every person in need. God my Father, in your own powerful way, help each of these people, hear their cries, and answer their prayers. Grant them peace and understanding to deal with whatever they are going through, may the abiding presence of Your Spirit be with them, overflow in them and direct them. You are in control Father God! Well I’m pregnant and it was a surprise to me. I also have an 11 year old son and he is my world.. The father of my unborn has left me and also left me with an std ( cure able ) … My anger towards him is so fierce and getting worse… I’m normally a positive person and people love being around me but lately ,I just can’t .. My joy has been stolen and I need it back.. My sister died this morning and I’m just not excited about life anymore.. I’m in a really dark place to the point I’m scared of my self … I obviously really liked this guy but after all that I can’t .. But we have to deal with each other cause of the baby coming.. My mother keeps telling me to have and abortion but I won’t .. I know how precious life is regardless of the situation .. I have a great job and education to support all of us but I didn’t want to have to do this by myself again… But here we are .. There is no chance of marriage or even a speaking relationship at this point.. I’m just don’t know what to do .. I’m praying for clarity and peace .. I’m trying to have a healthy pregnancy and I want my baby .. I just hate the fact that it’s like this
As someone who is also going through a dark and uncertain time I encourage you to pray. Press into God even when it feels tough. He will provide you peace and direction. He will heal you and provide.

Years of horrible sin have caught up with me and I’m surrounded by darkness facing federal prison and contemplating suicide. I need an impossible prayer answered and that is no prison sentence. Please pray for me.
Scared – I really will pray for you. God’s mercy will see you through this. Do not loose Hope!! Hope is always there because God is always there. Hopelessness is not being able to see the hope. There is always a way.

I am faced with the most impossible situation I have ever faced in my life. I been prayinh and seeking God everyday. I don’t want to grow weary in my faith but I know God can change any situation. I cry everyday asking God to help me and help my situation that seems impossible; possible. I feel like I have been punished long enough and I can’t go another day with this waying on my heart. Let alone a life time. If anyone wants to stand with me in prayer I would really appreciate it. I have faith that God can move mountains, and if he can then I know he can move for me as well.
I am in an impossible situation in the human sense but deep down I still feel that things can change through God. I lost my job 4 months ago. I made an appeal only to find out 3 months later that it was not valid. This has brought me out of the time limit to seek any further legal action. Through out this job crisis I have faced block after block stopping my progress in finding help. I feel like giving up but something is telling me to hold on.
Anonymous Woman N, There is only one way to respond to an impossible situation and that is to face it with God’s Word. Take the Sword of the Spirit and use it in prayer and your confession of faith. Jesus is our greatest example and He faced the enemy with God’s written word. (Matthew 4: 4,7,10) Each time Jesus spoke what was already written.
I can’t tell you what to do about any legal action but I can tell you if you’ll spend time praying, meditating, reading, praise and worship, and just fellowshipping with the Lord you will hear His voice. He will direct you.
Proverbs 3:5,6 John 10:27. Not long ago I was faced with a situation and did not know what to do. I took Proverbs and John and prayed and confessed then daily. Every time I thought about it I would confess that Jesus is the Good Shepherd and I hear his voice and follow His voice. I trust in God, He is my shepherd, He will direct my path. Over and over I said this till it became strong in my heart. After awhile that difficult situation didn’t seem so difficult and today I can tell you the Lord showed me what I needed to do. It will work for you but it will take some effort on your part. I encourage you to search the scriptures that fit your situation and begin to apply them with prayer and acknowledgement of God. My uncle lost his job part year after his wedding and he was in debts , it seemed impossible for him to get a job and it took a toll on his marriage as well , through prayer and faith he got a job last month . Let me tell you something Bonginkosi … God knows your heart , He knows your pain. God will never leave you nor forsake you , Gods word is faithful . pray and I’d also advice you to use the law of attraction . Mary, God hears your heart. He has not forgotten your longing and He will give you the desire of your heart. I encourage you to feed much on God’s Word. The best medicine for oppression is praise and worship. Turn the praise music on and turn the TV off. Find scriptures that match your need and feed on them. There are great scriptures on the website you can print out and use for a daily confession. When we confess the Word it renews our mind and increases our faith. This is what God is looking for in you. He is looking for you to spend more time with Him building your relationship with Him to strengthen you and to direct your heart. Be encourage and take a stand of faith! I remind you of what the Apostle James said to do, Submit yourself to God (do it His way) resist the devil and he will flee from you. Lord, I pray that You will cause Mary to rise above the oppression, that You will help her to turn her whole heart to You, and Lord give Mary the longing of her heart, help her to walk by faith, and trust in Your will for her life. well im going through a bad situation.a break up.we’ve been together for 5 years.we broke up in.2012 but i continued in prayer when it seemed impossible that we could get back and miraculously after avoiding each other for sometime we got back.and again a couple of months back he broke up with me sayin that i would ne happier without him..but i need him.he swore that he wouldn’t talk to me ever again cause him staying away from me would be best for me..i kept praying for a miracle and two weeks later he spoke to me..it was a a miracle.he wanted to be friends.i still pray that things would change.and he’s in Melbourne and suddenly even i got the opportunity to go.to Melbourne..even that was a miracle cause i got a scholarship..i still have faith..but i think hes with someone else now.i don’t think its serious though cause maybe he’s doing to get over me..i keep seeing signs to have faith and God can do the impossible..and even made my way to Melbourne..i keep hearing about restored relationships and many more..it feels like Gods tellin me not to give up.but i don’t know what to do..should i continue to believe?cause a miracle happened before and we got back then..please pray that God would restore this broken relationship ..i still love him and i don’t wanna just givup!i still feel like A miracle would happen and God would do the impossible..is it right fir me to have faith?

Hello Andrea – The same thing is happening to me right now, this is the second time he breaks up with me and I still love him with all my heart, I pray for him more than I pray for myself sometimes . I believe that if God once healed your relationship He will heal it again , do not give up on your hearts desires. Send him love and light everyday ! He will come back because Lord is your witness He knows that you truly love him. Be positive my sister this is just another test. The restoration of your relationship with him is your wish and your wish is the Universe’s command !!!!!!

God is so good. Even when were not god is always there for us. Even when we don’t believe god never leaves your side. He knows our hearts and he knew us before we were even thought of. In impossible situations sometimes it may seem like he’s no where to be found but he’s always there for us. He may not come when you want him but he’s always on time. I thought when I gave my life to the lord that my problems and troubles were over but no that’s when the devil will come in and attack because the devil’s job is to confuse you. Sometimes he will use your past to discourage you to make you feel like things aren’t getting better. That’s the time that u have to get down and pray. Don’t get discouraged! Let go and let God!

Am going through a very discouraging and hopeless situation at this point of my life I don’t even know how to explain sometimes I lack words while praying the situation gets worse everyday I pray believe I also go and fight for the solution but so far I fought for nothing and God seems to be rejecting and ignoring me its been 2years and half now that can’t sleep during the night that I keep crying to the Lord everytime I give my tithe and offering in the church I keep praying and believe and hope that God will change this sorrow and wounds in my heart
Hey, I found this site while looking for an answer for my question. I actually love that you brought Abrahams and Sarahs situation here because their situuation is one of the situations that seem impossible in our eyes. However, God had promised them and Abraham never gave up his faith in the promise God made for him. My situation is though very differnt. I’m supposed to go to 12th grade, abroad, by now but since my aproval to go abroad has not come yet from the embassy, I have to wait, meaning without going to school. Only 5 month left before 12 graders graduate and in my eyes, 5 month seems pretty impossible for me to complete a year education. But then I always remind myself that God has promised me. No matter how impossible it seems, with God on my side it is possible.
