P.U.S.H. = Pray Until Something Happens

by Rex Rouis

The way to get real-life results in prayer is to seek God with an attitude that says, “No matter how long it takes, or whatever I have to do, I will not be denied.” This is not arrogance; it is Godly hunger. It is not about pushing God, but about pushing yourself into God. It is not praying for the sake of praying. It is praying to see the hand of God move. It is desperate hungry praying. It is the type of prayer that gets answers.

Faith takes two things, first the written scriptures (hope) and then the spoken personal word of God (faith) – Romans 10:17. The scriptures show us the general will of God and communicate the conditions that must be met to receive faith and see His hand move. His spoken personal word reveals His will to us personally, and lets us know when we have met those conditions. The goal is to hear God confirm His promise and let Him place His witness into our heart. The promise then comes alive and becomes a reality to us. This reality is ‘the substance (lit. – reality, assurance, title-deed) of things (previously) hoped for, the evidence of things not (yet) seen’ (Hebrews 11:1).

This is not arrogance; it’s Godly hunger.
This seeking turns the general promises of God into personal realities. This is the period when we work the word, and the word works in us. Seeking God merges the word of God and the will of God into our lives. We become one with the word. This is what Jesus was referring to when He said, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, (you shall) ask whatever you will, and it will be done for you.” (John 15:7) This faith process turns desires into Bible hopes, and Bible hopes into real life realities. It is not easy, but it is never impossible. Anybody with enough hunger can make it happen.

The process usually takes time, and there are no shortcuts. God does not respond to part-time seekers. He is only found by those who seek Him with their whole heart. The Bible says, ‘You must be diligent so as to realize the full assurance of hope, so that you will receive the promise’ (Hebrews 6:11). Growing faith is hard work, for the Bible goes on to say, ‘Don’t be sluggish but be imitators of those who through faith and patience have inherited the promises’ (Hebrews 6:12).

This is desperate hungry praying. This is the type of prayer that gets answers.
Pray until you receive an answer from God, for when you do, you will have the victory. You must persevere until you get to a place where you are ‘fully assured that what God has promised, (for) He is able also to perform’ (Romans 4:21). When you hear Him, you have the answer, for Paul says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the (spoken) word of God’ (Romans 10:17). The word translated ‘word’ here is the Greek word rhema, and it speaks of a personal face-to-face type of communication. He is not talking about a mere reading of the word. This is deeper. This is God making the word on the page come alive in your heart. The word on the page must become the word in your heart before you can have enough faith to receive from God.

Then, and only then, you can speak faith’s victory to your life and situation. Speaking words filled with faith is the only kind of speaking that makes a difference. This kind of speaking will move mountains. Seek Him till you hear from Him. Jesus told us that in prayer we should always pray and never give up. Don’t give up! Seek Him till you hear His voice. Let Him deal with your heart, for as you do, He will speak your answer to you. When you hear the answer, you will have the answer.

When you hear the answer, you will have the answer.

  1. God bless REX ROUIS for this article; I have received the same revelation; revelation knowledge is what we, children of God lack, and perish one way or another (not enjoying the blessings that God has already blessed us with) Hosea 4:6.

  2. Scott, I will pray for you. Can I ask that you pray for me, I had a brain haemorrhage in August 2013. I still have not made a full recovery but am praying to Jesus that I will. I know how you feel and I will of course pray for you. God bless. Maria

  3. Ann Seabrook YOU ARE 100% SAVED. STOP LISTENING TO THE DEVIL. STOP DOUBTING. KEEP GOING BE BLESSED.

  4. Hello. Steps to salvation. First, admit that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23). Second, Repent (Acts 3:19). Third, Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for your sins (Romans 5:8). Fourth, Invite Jesus into your life through the prayer of faith (Revelation 3:20)

THERE IS THEREFORE NOW NO CONDEMNATION TO THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST JESUS.

After prayer of faith for your salvation. All you need is to believe that Jesus has taken away your sins and that you are forgiven and do not allow any doubt to exist in you again and pray to God to sanctify you and baptise you in the Holy ghost. If any man be in Christ is a new creature, old things are passed away behold, all things have become new. Pray constantly to God and believe on His name every time. Do not allow sin or any form of sin in you again. Read your bible daily and pray on it. God bless you!

  5. May I ask for a prayer I suffered a massive stroke last year at the age of 39,it’s by the grace of god that I survived my stroke lasted for 6hours before I was able to get medical treatment my prayer is for a total restoration I can use all the prayers I can get

  6. This seems like this was printed with me in mind. I pray morning noon and night. I am still not SURE I am Saved. God knows I don’t want to die being uncertain. I’ve been baptized, 2x one Baptist and once in the Apostolic faith. All Chistian churches. Not sprinkled, but Submersion. I believe in God and Jesus Christ. I just feel I am missing in my Faith! I read my King James Bible every night, I understand what I am reading!
I am female and am 70 years old. As you may understand my urgency. Please, can you help someone like me?

    1. Dear Ann
Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?
Do you believe that He died to take away your sins and so that you can be born again?
Do you believe God the Father sent Jesus here to this earth and accomplished the work of destroying the devils work? Jesus said “It Is Finished”.
Do you believe that Jesus finished the work that the Father asked Him to do?
Jesus said that the work of God is this: To believe in the one that He sent.
Ann you said you were baptized. You have done what He asked you to do.

Ann you cannot go by “Your Feelings”, that is of the flesh.
Ann by Faith, rest in the finished work that Jesus done on the cross for YOU and God’s peace will come over you and you will be at rest.
God’s blessings are upon you “NOW.”

      1. Thank you Steve Miller. I am getting ever so close to FEELING my Faith, not completly there yet, but I am NOT giving up. Continue to Pray for me, and keep in touch. I thank God for you. Thank God for giving us Jesus Christ who took away the sins of the world.

        1. Dear Ann
Faith is not a feeling. Understanding that fact alone is one of the greatest blessings you can ever have
because it is based upon the Word of God, which is none other than Jesus Christ Himself.
Faith is believing that the Word of God to us is TRUE.
Faith is a choice to believe the same way that Abraham made a choice to believe God’s word to him.
In Psalm 138:2 God’s word says that He exalts his WORD above His Name.
In Psalm 119:160 God’s word says that the Sum of God’s Word is Truth.
John 8:32 God’s word says that YOU shall know the Truth and the Truth will make you free.
Psalm 119:130 As people understand your word, it brings light to their lives.
Your word makes even simple people wise.
Proverbs 4:20-22 God’s word says: My son, attend to My Words, incline your ear to My sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are LIFE to those that find them, and HEALTH to all their flesh.

Ann rest in God’s finished work that He accomplished through His Son Jesus on the Cross. Praise the Father.

    2. Ann Seabrook…the Word says confess Jesus Christ as your savior , Romans 10: 9-13, read it now, then read v 10 & 13. After u do, search ur heart, is there any unforgiveness, even forgiving urself? No matter what the issue may be, it could be the smallest thing, but if it troubles us…the enemy is cunning and knows our past and uses whatever it is to make us feel unworthy of Gods love and salvation thru Jesus. And not only does he condemns us, but lil by lil we do the same. If yes, look in the mirror and tell the person looking back at u “I forgive u” until the knot in the stomach is no more. I’ve been there until I heard Kenneth Copeland say something to the matter and I did what I ask u to do. He also said to tell satan “yes, I did or I was this n that, but God forgave me n not u and hell was created for u “Matthew 25:41” & what once u had is mine now, “Isaiah 14:12-15. cause God forgave me “Micah 7:19;Jeremiah 31:34 not u “Rev 20:1-15; Luke 10:18” and remember that its written u shall bow n confess that my God Christ is ur Lord, “Luke 4:8; Romans 14:11;Philippians 2:9-11”. Praise God, I know who’s child I am…GOD’s. And so are u.
All the best to you, dont doubt … satan must flee “James 4:7”

  7. God I return to You fully and completely.I pray that You embrace me and my family when we feel lost, guide and grant us the grace to live in your presence. It’s thought eight now and the devil is trying to discourage us…be our strength when we feel weak. You know the desires of our hearts…me and my children. We love You God!

  8. Elizabeth to your message dated December 14, 2016. It is quite clear what God is saying to you, He has empowered you to reach out to others so they can be save. My dear there are lot of Destiny attached to you, their salvation is connected to you. Please arise to the call of your maker.

  9. please help me pray for me to get re-enrolled into my school so that I don’t have to go through a stressful process to find another school to get into.

  10. Thank God for his word bcz it works. Now I know it ain’t arrogance but Godly hunger

  11. Please pray for me having dizziness and migranes that wont go away

  12. Hi Elizabeth, have you found clarification on why God was directing you to these verses yet?

  13. Phumza stay in God’s miraculous
Precsence and humble yourself with total submission to him… keep on telling him about your situation and the needed steps to take. The scripture says “lay every weight aside, those things that so easily beset you. You must pray and meditate on God day and night for change to come…
Don’t stop talking to him until he moves and speaks to your soul and mind. NEVER LET GO!! He always delivers on his promises. If you don’t ask you don’t receive unless you Truly believe. In the precious name of Jesus let him take the scales off his eyes. Let his family be revealed to him.

    God Bless Phumza and family

    1. The Lord promises of whatever we ask we shall receive, surely this is true…I’ve got more than I can share, testimonies that God is defiantly a true living faithful God. Along my journey of learning to trust God and still longing for more. I’ve learnt to pray with definite believe and faith believing it is done hence you see nothing yet. It always reminds me back to the stories of Joseph, Moses, David—Showing how God is more than what we think of him, He was, He is, He is to come, He is Forever…Doesn’t that shake you abit who is like that…and then we get saved by his son Jesus Christ who is now in heaven next to his father, we have the authority to manifest Godly things through Jesus Christ…There’s a lesson here (Faith) we can’t see but God hears our prayers and when you dwell believing, what you praying for you’ll be shocked for you life-time, Its like having a constant conversation with God, it really does become a dialogue.. Pray more, Read the bible it feeds our soul, praise opens up heavens and cleanses your soul…God does not lie, he is a trustworthy God, Most high, Forever will, and when you fast you really are looking for a miracle….

      1. Praying for all people. God bless each and every one of you.. Keep the Faith.. Jesus is real

  14. I’m also going through a hard time in my marriage. Witch craft is a sauce my husband doesn’t leason tof me & he’s not a believer. I pray not to lose awareness of knowing in full faith that he does hear my prayers. i pray to have strength to not give up on him and to have a peace of mind through his comfort. Ive made mistakes that I greatly regret and I have cried and cried myself to the point that it has pushed me to speak to God about it. I have asked for forgiveness and I have admitted the

  19. Thank God, I’m a Muslim man and I pray for something, sometimes I loss my hope but I believe God has answered me long ago and this “push” is just a bless for me to find myself and find Him, Moulana (you call him Rumi, I suppose) said: pray with a tongue that you haven’t done sin with, it means pray for each other (aftet Muhammad). You are right, Quran & Bible says aks God and he will anwer you (call me and I will answer). Pray for me and don’t aks little things, there’s a story: a man was exhorting his son that someone who ask little things will be blind, so he face a mountain and says God please make this mountain gold! & he become blind!
    God bless you.
