Scary-path-300-webThe following is a list of scriptures on fear. Use them when fear is attempting to come. Fear does not necessarily mean danger, it can simply mean fear. We associate fear with danger because that is how our body interacts with our God given motivation for self preservation. When we go into a dark room, we might sense fear, especially if we are apprehensive about the dark, but that does not mean that there actually is a danger. It only means that there is an unknown, and that unknown can breed fear – fear of the unknown. To fight the fear of the unknown, counteract it with faith based on the known – the known will of God. All Scriptures are from the King James Version

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anoints my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Psalm 23:1-6

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD. Psalm 27:1-6

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. Psalm 56:3-4

When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. Psalm 56:9-11

I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? Psalm 118:5-6

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. Proverbs 3:25-26

The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe. Proverbs 29:25

Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Isaiah 12:2

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Romans 8:15

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifies. Romans 8:28-33

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Hebrews 13:5-6

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:5-7

I am so so glad. When God speaks, all darkness leaves. Also, hearing God speak is the source and basis of faith (Romans 10:17). And with faith ‘all things are possible.’

Be sure you read this – Depression Is a Spirit – It Must Be Fought with the Word of God. It is taken from the personal testimony of a very important Bible teacher. He could not get free from an intense depressive feeling. Similar to the random fear that would come on you. It would not leave him, but once he realized that it was a spirit and he dealt with it as a spirit, it left. Here is a link to the original article – Derek Prince – You’ve Got to Have Hope.

I will continue to pray for you. Your walk will get brighter and brighter each day in Jesus Name! God is faithful and God is good.

      1. Just read You’ve Got To Have Hope – thanks for sharing. It lifted the heaviness from me.

The Bible calls the fear you are experiencing a ‘spirit of fear’ (II Timothy 1:7 KJV). Being fearful does not always mean that there is danger; it just means that there is fear. There can be danger, but it does not have to be. Standing next to a very high cliff, it is natural to be fearful (or for me a lot fearful). But just being yourself in a normal setting and have panicked fear – that is not natural. That is super-natural. That is the work of a demon spirit. When you were 7 or 8, it came in to you. It is similar to this – Depression Is a Spirit – It Must Be Fought with the Word of God – read it.

You cannot get free from spiritual things by your own choice or will. When you speak the scriptures to yourself out load, do not worry about what you are thinking of feeling, just keep speaking. It is your Christian spirit down in your heart that is receiving the benefit. It is a spiritual thing. Keep speaking and reading the Bible. It will break. This will not last much longer. Just relax and let God do it for you. Realize, it is a spirit. Get more knowledge and the Word of God into you. It is a spiritual battle, not a mental one.

I demand that You be set free in Jesus Name! You will be set free. You can set yourself free in Jesus Name. I believe God will honor your effort and faith. I will send you books about this when I get your email address. Please send it to me. The address is on our About page.

I am believing that the Spirit of God will set you free from this in Jesus Name. I speak the Blood of Jesus all over you, and I speak the grace and favor and protection of Almighty God over you. You will be set free in Jesus Name. I will continue to pray for you. We love you and we are with you, and God is with you and for you!! Rex

  9. You are really doing a good job, may GOD’s grace continually be Abundant in your life In JESUS Name Amen. This site is a mine of rich treasures or should i call it an end-time ordnance-depot or GOD’s kingdom armory. I always come here often and the hunger and thirst is always more

  10. This site is so uplifting. Thanks so much to the editor. I woke up all of a sudden about two weeks ago with floaters in my eye and blood with in. I was in total fear and shock because this happened from nowhere. I had no sign and I just had an eye check up and I was told that everything was fine. Well, after I saw the Ophthalmologist she said that my eyes were OK and she said that her only “concern” is the blood that was in my eyes because if the floaters pulled so hard for me to bleed I had the chance of a torn or detached retina and I have been so paranoid ever since and I have been suffering from insomnia. I came across this site looking for solace about my paranoia of going blind and I was very relieved when I saw the scriptures on here. I do have faith in God and I believe in God but in this case the fear of the unknown seems to consume me. Thanks again and please everybody please say a prayer for me so that i do not have any more issues with my right eye.

Marie – Keep reading and speaking the scriptures to yourself, till they get way down deep inside of you. That is where faith is born, deep in the heart. Your born again recreated spirit is call the ‘hidden man of the heart.’ Feed on the word of God and your spirit will grow in strength. It will guide you and change you. Out of your heart comes the ‘issues of life.’ God bless

    2. I too have had floaters and flashes for several years. And more recently I have been diagnosed with glaucoma, which can lead to blindness – which already runs in my family. And I already have optic nerve damage from that.

I too have been fearful of what MIGHT happen from here, but God has already been so faithful for over 50 years in guarding my eyesight in spite of all that. As this wonderful collection of God’s Word has already shown, putting your trust in the Lord and holding His hand as you walk through this next season is your best assurance.

May he restore your outward sight (I know how distracting floaters can be) but may He also open to open the eyes of your soul to see Him all the more clearly as well (something we all need more of).

  11. The word of God is a spirit it gaveth to those that studY it. Thank u jesus

  12. Thanks for infomation on the scriptures. I have been believing the Lord to guide me against fear and doubt and I am reading my Bible looking for God’s intervention in my life. 16. I’ve just found your website and I love how it’s so easy to find uplifting scriptures and the writings of the Great Healers of God. For 18 years I have been suffering with a mysterious illness. I was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease about one month ago. Many doctors believe that at this late stage there is no real help for this Disease. Please pray for a miraculous healing for me. Until my healing comes, I will encourage myself with scripture – and I am thankful for your site that helps me with that.

  18. Please pray for me, I’ve had abdominal surgery. And now my bladder isn’t working. I’m so afraid it will never get better, I live in constant fear and depression. Don’t want pills for depression. I pray everyday for Gods will, I believe in his word. But can’t shake this awful fear. It is overtaking my life.

Kathy – I am believing with you for your healing. Push through the fear and speak the scriptures over yourself. We love you. God loves you. You will make it. He can give you a peace that covers all the understandings of what can happen in life around you and to you. No situation is hopeless, but faith is hard work. Go for it. You might not see it but God is working in you and in your situation. Salvation is coming. Joy is the emotion of hope and peace is the emotion of faith. Work toward it and expect it.

Keep reading the Word and building your faith. That is what will give you victory in life. Go through our site and see which articles jump out at you; read them.
