Faith Is Anything But Blind

eyes-of-the-Blind-03-350Faith is not blind. Faith sees what the natural eyes cannot see. It sees the answer to life’s problems. Doubt sees what currently is and no more. Hope sees what can be but is not yet. Faith sees what is and will be. The seeing of faith is not seeing with the physical eyes; it is a seeing of the heart. Just like the hearing of faith is not hearing with physical ears, but rather, with the ears of the human spirit.

…but just as it is written, “THINGS WHICH (physical) EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND (physical) EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE (natural) HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

..while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

Faith is not mere confidence. Faith is not trying to believe. Faith comes when you know that you know that YOU KNOW something will happen. This surety can only come from someone who knows and holds the future in His hands. Only those who continue in God’s Word come to a place of this kind of knowing.

Faith is determined by what we know prior to the event. If we know no more than anybody else before the game, then we are the same as everybody else during the game. True faith knows beforehand what will happen. Faith is a pre-knowledge of the coming victory, and this knowledge gives us peace. We may know the coming victory in detail or we may know it simply by the peace in our heart. Either way, it communicates a knowledge of victory, and by it, we have faith. It is the spirit of man yielded to the Spirit of God that allows us to see and hear the things that God has for us.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 1 Corinthians 2:12-15

We alone as believing Christians have the ability to know the will of the Lord by hearing His voice and seeing the answer, even if afar off.

For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16

Faith is not something you muster on your own from within, it is something you receive from without. Absolute surety can only come from an Absolute Being. Faith comes from God, by a hearing of the heart. The hearing of faith is the sound of the Word of God coming alive in your heart.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17
